Happy Spring!

Spring is just around the corner; the flowers are starting to bloom, and the Easter Bunny will be hopping by soon to visit us at Autumn View Gardens. We will soon be able to spend time outside on our beautiful covered patio, planting flowers and hanging up hummingbird feeders to enjoy. We will also bring back memories of picnics when we enjoy the parks in Missouri, and of course we will bring along picnic lunches to enjoy in the beautiful outdoors. Spring is a time of renewal and a time to try new activities. Please be watching our monthly calendars for the activities you wish to enjoy, and the new activities we are going to be offering.

Community Benefit Program

Executive Director Jackie Malloy presenting gift to Glen Koenen, the Executive Director for the Circle of Concern.

Each year, our Community makes a donation to a not-for-profit organization within our surrounding area. This year our staff voted unanimously to support two not-for-profit organizations: Circle of Concern and Love on a Leash, with a donation of $2,500 to each.

Circle of Concern feeds the hungry and provides long-term and emergency assistance to low-income families living in western St. Louis County. The organization creates opportunities for needy families to re-establish themselves as productive members in our community. In addition to the monetary donation, our staff will be volunteering their time and energy on-site at Circle of Concern to assist in their food pantry.

Love on a Leash is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to providing pet therapy in the form of fun, love and entertainment to groups throughout the community (long-term-care communities, special education settings, elementary schools and hospitals). The organization’s volunteers “adopt” these facilities and return for regular pet therapy visits. Their goals are to increase awareness of and provide education on the value of pet therapy by: promoting companionship between pets and people, ensuring screening and training of volunteers and pets, providing ongoing training opportunities for chapter members, and to enrich the lives of others in the local and surrounding communities.

We look forward to partnering with these two worthwhile organizations by working with Circle of Concern in supporting their efforts, and having Love on a Leash come to our Community to share their pets with our Residents. We are truly honored to have to opportunity to give back to our own local community.
