Frequently Asked Questions...And Their Answers
Q. What range of care is available through Autumn View Gardens communities?
A. Autumn View Gardens communities are dedicated to making the most of our residents’ retirement years. While some are more active than others, all enjoy getting away from the onslaught of modern life, where they can pursue friendships and hobbies in a peaceful environment and be pampered by staff who know each of them by name. We offer a variety of care levels to serve the varying needs of our clientele – both as they first walk through the door, and over time as their care needs continue to evolve. Autumn View Gardens offer some of the best senior care available at any price, provided in a caring, Christian environment, on peaceful campuses, and at an affordable price. We currently offer care programs in place to serve the following types of residents:
- Assisted Living
- Short Term Care
- Aging in Place
Q. When is assisted living appropriate?
A. Assisted living becomes appropriate when an otherwise active senior begins having a little trouble getting proper nutrition, maintaining the household or personal care routines, or remembering to take medications. Autumn View Gardens communities are staffed 24 hours a day with licensed nurses, medication aides and friendly support staff who together ensure that our assisted living residents have the help they need when they need it. Our affordably-priced assisted living programs provide residents with maximum privacy and autonomy in an attentive and caring environment. Q. Why not a nursing home?
A. Nursing homes are not the catch-all solution they once were considered to be -- primarily because most people do not want to be in one. Nursing homes are designed to provide patients with ongoing, intensive medical and nursing services, and to do this well they must be both intrusive and pricy. For seniors whose health has deteriorated to the point where acute medical intervention is required regularly, the cost and restrictive living environment of a nursing home begins to make sense. But there’s a huge stretch of road between retirement and the nursing home! Residents of Autumn View Gardens communities enjoy active, independent and productive lives with varying degrees of assistance. Our secure, peaceful campuses allow residents to retire from the crush and confusion of modern life where they can rediscover their independence, their tastes, their hobbies and their worth, while getting the support they need when they need it. Q. Do Autumn View Gardens communities charge a flat fee or are there hidden costs and extra fees?
A. Autumn View Gardens communities offer a variety of packages for residents living in the active retirement communities. The fees vary, but they are easy to understand and they are certainly never hidden. Autumn View Gardens communities have flat fees which cover the services we provide to all residents equally, such as restaurant-style dining, laundry, housekeeping services and utilities. Telephones and cable television are billed separately to accommodate the residents’ plan preferences. Residents with cars can also order carports for an extra monthly fee. Residents on an assisted-living program pay additional monthly fees to cover the additional supports their plans require, including nursing, bathing, dressing and other personal services.
